The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a comprehensive new European data protection law that provides greater data protection for individuals in the European Union (EU). LinkedIn is taking a global approach to the GDPR to help ensure our members and customers benefit from increased control and clarity, which is in line with our commitment of putting our members first and working every day to maintain the trust they put in us.

LinkedIn Elevate and The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The GDPR is a comprehensive European data protection law that provides significant data rights for individuals, including LinkedIn members. As always, we take a members-first approach in the way we build products and work with our partners and customers. We’ve worked to bring our products and services into compliance with the GDPR and we’ve updated our customer agreements to reflect GDPR requirements. As a LinkedIn Elevate customer, you’re able to make requests to export or to delete data at either the individual seat holder or the contract level.

What type of data export can I request?

  • As a customer, you can delete or export data your enterprise data at the individual seat-holder or the contract level. The export process won’t delete data. A separate request will need to be issued for data deletion. Certain data is already available for export through your enterprise admin account. To request export of other data or deletion of enterprise data, please contact your LinkedIn account representative or contact enterprise support.

What information will be deleted upon my request?

  • Data deletion can take place at the seat-holder or contract level. At the contract level, data deletion includes: Broadcasts, Employees’ Shares, Seats, Invites, and Topics. The deletion process cannot be undone.

How do I request export or deletion of my data?

  • To request export of other data or deletion of enterprise data, please contact your LinkedIn account representative or contact enterprise support.

  • Yes. Refer to our Trust and Compliance page for a comprehensive list of industry standard certifications to validate our commitment to members first. Our members entrust us with their information every day and we take their security seriously. We follow industry standards and have developed our own best practices.
