ELKA is constantly putting emphasis on DisplayPort product development involving cables as well as dongles or adapters. With more and more audio and video interfaces developed, it is conceivable that users sometimes need to connect their DisplayPort desktop/computer to a non-DisplayPort display. For example, connecting a DisplayPort device to an HDMI™ display.

A video dongle featuring signal transformation such as a DisplayPort to HDMI dongle can become a solution to this connecting issue. However, it is possible that users could face some display problems when connecting through a video dongle. Those problems include a black screen, flickering image, dim image, and so on. A qualified video dongle can not only support signal converting but also make video display accurate and smooth. Interoperability is also a key factor in connecting two different sorts of interfaces together.

To ensure its DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) dongle qualified, at the end of 2019, ELKA submitted it to the VESA DisplayPort Authorized Test Center to verify interoperability of the dongle. ELKA successfully received the VESA certification for its DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) dongle, as well as, for its mini DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) dongle.

Both ELKA’s DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) dongle and mini DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) dongle was passed by the VESA DisplayPort 1.2 HBR3 Compliance Program and were approved by the VESA to use DisplayPort compliance logo on the certified dongles.

ELKA’s DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) dongle and mini DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) features include:

  • Maximum resolution: 4096 x 2160 @60Hz (4:4:4, 8 bit)
  • Compliant with DisplayPort 1.2 HBR3 and HDMI 2.0
  • Supports HDCP 2.2
  • Plug and play
  • Aluminum housing
